Job Description
The Planner Engineer for Construction will be responsible for the development, management, and coordination of construction project schedules, ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. This role will involve the preparation of project plans, tracking project progress, managing resources, and collaborating closely with various teams to ensure successful project delivery.Project Scheduling & Planning:Develop, monitor, and maintain detailed project schedules using scheduling software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).Prepare master project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.Identify critical paths and optimize schedules to avoid delays.Update and adjust project timelines as necessary due to changes in scope, resources, or other factors.Progress Monitoring & Reporting:Track daily, weekly, and monthly project progress and performance against the baseline schedule.Prepare and deliver regular progress reports to the project team, senior management, and stakeholders.Identify potential delays or problems early and work with the team to resolve issues proactively.Resource Allocation:Work closely with project managers and construction managers to allocate resources (materials, manpower, equipment).Monitor resource usage and adjust allocations as necessary to avoid inefficiencies or project delays.Risk Management & Mitigation:Analyze project risks and develop mitigation plans to prevent schedule delays.Identify potential risks related to materials, labor, and external factors (e.g., weather, supply chain).Coordination & Collaboration:Collaborate with the engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure smooth coordination across all project phases.Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure adherence to timelines and schedules.Documentation & Compliance:Ensure all scheduling documentation is accurate and up-to-date.Maintain records of planning and scheduling data, including revisions, updates, and approvals.Cost Control & Budgeting:Assist in budgeting for project timelines and help identify areas where cost efficiencies can be achieved.Ensure that scheduling and resource allocation is aligned with the project budget.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.At least 3-5 years of experience in construction planning or scheduling.Hands-on experience in planning, scheduling, and coordinating large-scale construction projects.Strong understanding of construction processes, timelines, and resource management.Proficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, data analysis).Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other project management tools is a plus.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
