Job Description



ABOUT THE ROLE:



Based at the Corporate Office in Dubai, the Corporate Repair and Maintenance Manager - Port Services is responsible for the planning and performing/ monitoring of drydocking and maintenance activities on the POML PSD fleet. This role ensures that all PSD vessels are maintained and repaired according to regulatory standards and POML/PSD standards and procedures. This role also includes project support for new build vessels within PSD and other technical support to PSD BUS as and when required.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES



Technical Standards and Procedures



Support the CTM PS with reviewing and providing recommended input for improvement to POML Technical Standards and procedures considering POML vessels’ diversity and operations. Manage the implementation and adherence of POML Technical Standards and procedures across PSD BUs and vessels.

Dry Dockings, major repairs and refits



To maintain POML PSD vessels 5 years DD/MEs OH master plan. Assigned Dockings, major repairs, and refits to be advanced planned, managed, and completed on time and within allocated budgets. All deviations are to be justified and documented. To provide SYs/contractors selection and inspections of yards/contractors’ facilities and workshops if/when required. Review and approve the specifications and SoWs. Supervise that technical and docking procedures are adhered in the PSD BUs and to provide advice and support to Business Unit Heads, Technical Managers, and Superintendents for organising of dockings and other DD-related works.

Maintenance



Supervise that technical maintenance procedures are adhered to in the PSD BUs and to provide advice and support to Business Unit Heads, Technical Managers/Superintendents/Port Engineers, and crews for organising the best way of maintaining the vessels. To use existing software(s) and OEMs systems/tools for vessels’ performance monitoring and to provide analysis and advise.

Integrated Business Management Systems



Oversee technical reliability and downtime of PSD BUs vessels. Use maintenance software tool(s) for DDs and PMS activities. Provide recommendations of existing DD/PMS/Fleet Performance Monitoring software(s) and systems/tools for improvement and selection/implementation of new software(s)/tools if required.

Budget/Finance



Oversee and control assigned DDs projects budgets. Support the CTM PS in preparing and monitoring of PSD budgets, with a specific focus on repair, docking, and maintenance costs.

PSD Projects



Support PSD Projects as directed by CTM PS. Site Visits and Local Support: Conduct business visits to support PSD projects and dry docking. Visit P&OML BUs to support local operations. Provide PSD BUs vessels and shore-based technical services assessments and recommendations for improvements.

QUALIFICATIION & EXPERIENCE



Chief Engineer Class 1 CoC, preferably sailed as a senior engineer on FG vessels. Extensive experience in senior maritime technical positions ashore preferably in the Port services/Offshore vessels segment. Around 10 years of relevant experience including at least 5 years of experience as Fleet/Technical Manager/ Superintendent shore-based level/role. Extensive experience in charge of vessels DDs and Maintenance, including and/ or new build vessels and related projects. A detailed knowledge and understanding of marine engineering and maintenance standards and technical legislation. Experience with shipboard safety management systems, Class and IMO requirements,s and other recognised industry standards.

Self-discipline and ability to work alone with minimal supervision and as a part of the team. Additional languages both verbal and written are advantages.
