The Overground Station Inspector is responsible for ensuring the safety, functionality, and overall operational excellence of overground railway stations. This includes routine inspections, compliance checks, and collaboration with teams to address and resolve maintenance or operational issues promptly. The role plays a critical part in maintaining a safe and efficient passenger experience. The position entails a 60-hour workweek.Key Responsibilities:Inspection and Monitoring: Conduct regular inspections of overground station infrastructure, including platforms, tracks, signage, lighting, and amenities. Ensure facilities such as ticket counters, waiting areas, restrooms, and accessibility features are functional and meet prescribed standards.Safety and Compliance: Monitor stations for adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations. Identify potential hazards and implement corrective measures in collaboration with relevant teams. Ensure compliance with fire safety protocols and emergency response plans.Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, findings, and corrective actions taken. Submit detailed reports to management and recommend improvements where necessary.Coordination with Teams: Liaise with station staff, maintenance teams, and external contractors to address operational issues. Provide input on prioritizing maintenance activities based on inspection findings.Passenger Experience Enhancement: Ensure cleanliness, signage clarity, and accessibility standards are met for all passengers, including those with special needs. Identify and resolve issues affecting passenger comfort and safety proactively.Emergency Response: Participate in the planning and execution of emergency drills. Provide on-site support during emergencies and ensure adherence to safety protocols.Qualifications and Skills:Education: Diploma or degree in civil engineering, transportation management, or a related field. Experience: 2-3 years of experience in station operations, inspections, or a related role. Familiarity with overground rail systems is preferred.Skills: Strong problem-solving and observational skills. Excellent communication and documentation abilities. Proficiency in using inspection and reporting tools/software. Ability to work in a dynamic environment and respond effectively under pressure.Work Environment: Work is primarily conducted at overground stations, involving exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
