Job Description
Must have sound working knowledge of solid bulk handling systems.
Familiarity with regulatory systems, recommended practices, related manuals and
procedures.
Experience in operating ship loaders/un-loaders, port cranes, tower cranes, heavy
duty mobile cranes (must have valid driving license and operator license).
Experience in verifying the ship-Loader machine placement accuracy based on
written and verbal instructions.
Experience in discussing the loading plan and features of the ship before entering
into the ship-loader to begin operations.
Experience in positing the ship-loader along the rails with respect to the ship
hatches position.
The ship-loader must always be in correct positions at all appropriate times.
Loading into the hatches of the ship by raising / lowering and slewing boom.
The operator must ensure that all equipment being operated is clear of other
equipment, ship gear and personnel and constantly monitor the ship’s list during
loading operations and must follow plans and orders to ensure the stability of the
vessel.
Coordinating activities with Supervisor and other workers to ensure constant flow of
concentrates to ship-loader hopper during loading operation.
