Job Description


Job Purpose

The Operations Manager for Terminals oversees the daily operations of the Terminals, ensuring safety, compliance with international standards, and operational excellence. This role involves implementing and managing the Terminals' business plan effectively.


Key Responsibilities


Operations

  • Manage terminal operations, including HSSEQ, maintenance, and projects, in line with international standards (e.g., JIG, API, EI1530, ISGOTT, NFPA, ASTM) and local regulations.
  • Lead projects such as QRA, HAZOP, and PHA, ensuring safe decommissioning and commissioning of deliverables.
  • Formulate and manage the OPEX budget, ensuring cost control and timely execution.
  • Assist in updating the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) and managing financial performance, risk, and cost control.

Shift and Staff Management

  • Set and review annual operational targets, providing leadership to enhance teamwork, productivity, and performance.
  • Oversee training needs, annual training plans, and personal development plans, tracking and reporting KPIs.
  • Implement organizational changes and motivate the team to improve operational competencies.
  • Allocate personnel for shifts, monitor overtime, and approve leave requests in the SAP system.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals for direct reports.

Customer Relations

  • Maintain effective communication and relationships with customers, implementing agreed actions from review meetings.
  • Monitor and record daily product inventory, investigating and reporting stock variations.
  • Respond to customer complaints promptly and effectively.

Maintenance and Procurement

  • Capture and share project lessons with the operations team.
  • Enforce the “Permit to Work system” (PTW) and best practices for all operational shifts and contractors.
  • Manage timely procurement of operating materials, stocks, tools, and equipment.

HSSEQ and Sustainability

  • Implement the Quality Management System to improve process quality, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness with regular mock drills as per the HSSEQ plan.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, implementing corrective actions.
  • Act as Deputy Operations Section Head in the Emergency Management Team (EMT).
  • Ensure operational documents are up-to-date and comply with standards and IMS requirements.


Additional Responsibilities

  • Act as Terminals Manager in their absence, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Execute ad-hoc tasks as instructed by the Terminals Manager.
