Job Description

The News Research & Content Assistant role focuses on gathering breaking news, leveraging AI for content enhancement, and delivering compelling news stories within strict timeframes. This role is suitable for writers who can research and work with AI on FEDON (First Editorial Drafts of News). These drafts will help shape the news stories that UK writers develop further.

  • Search the internet for trending news from diverse, credible sources.
  • Create engaging long-form feature/opinion articles (approx. 1000 words) and concise news pieces (approx. 400 words).
  • Identify emerging and trending stories from print and broadcast media that the assigned title should cover.
  • Write clear and simple first drafts of news articles.
  • Ensure drafts are clear and meet basic publication style and standards for headlines and articles (with AI assistance).
  • Ensure full attribution for all sourced content and compliance with copyright laws.
  • Work on a time-critical schedule to deliver high-quality news and feature article
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to align content with the required tone and audience needs.

Requirements
  • Must possess a valid UAE residence visa.
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Mass Communications, Journalism, Digital Media or a related field.
  • Proficiency in using AI tools for content development and optimization.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with news writing styles, including features and opinion pieces.
  • The role is either full-time or 25 hours per week; depending on your availability if you are studying.​
