NETWORK ENGINEER

ROLE PURPOSE 

The Network Engineer is responsible for implementing, maintaining, and supporting the growing network
infrastructure of Royal Jet and related projects.
As a key member of the network team, the engineer will contribute to the development of scalable,
maintainable, and highly available network architectures that align with business objectives and meet
Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

People Accountabilities
Leadership & Collaboration:
• Mentor junior network engineers and other IT operation staff, providing guidance and expertise
to foster their professional development.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including IT security, Infrastructure,
applications & field support engineers, to ensure seamless network integration and support for
company initiatives.
Continuous Improvement:
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in network operations, driving innovation
and efficiency across the department.
• Championing best practices and staying abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

Operational Accountabilities
Network Maintenance & Support:
• Maintain and manage LAN, WAN, CLOUD and WAP equipment and related services to ensure
optimal network performance.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex network issues, providing expert -level support to
ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
• Provide Level 1 and Level 2 network support for Royal Jet and related projects, ensuring timely
resolution of issues and maintaining high levels of satisfaction.
Service Level Management:
• Monitor and maintain the Service Level Agreements (SLAs) for all levels of network connectivity,
both internally and externally, ensuring performance metrics are consistently met or exceeded.
Documentation & Network Design:
• Create and maintain detailed network topology diagrams, ensuring they accurately reflect the
current network architecture and are regularly updated.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs), Configuration Management Database (CMDB) entries, network diagrams, and preventive
maintenance schedules.
Site Surveys & Infrastructure Planning:
• Conduct physical site surveys for any network component including cabling or wireless-related
activities, ensuring accurate planning and execution of network infrastructure projects.

Other Tasks
• Undertake any other reasonable work tasks as allocated by the business, line manager,
demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to supporting the company’s objectives.
• Respond to the company’s emergency needs, especially during after-hours, holidays, or
vacations, ensuring network availability and reliability always.
