Job Description

  • Job Title: Murex Front Office Business Analyst
    Purpose of Job:
    The Murex Front Office Business Analyst will be responsible for providing IT services to the Global Markets team. This role involves supporting, managing change requests, and handling projects related to Global Markets. Key responsibilities include engaging with business units, conducting analysis, developing requirements, reviewing technical and functional designs, building and testing solutions, and ensuring proper closure of various initiatives by taking end-to-end ownership and accountability.



    Key Responsibilities:


  • Analyze and document user requirements and translate them into Functional Specifications.
  • Serve as a key liaison with Global Markets teams (business and supporting functions), IT teams, and vendors.
  • Actively participate in discussions with business units, understand their needs, and transform them into change or project initiatives.
  • Define systems and data requirements and validate the systems design and processes from both functional and technical perspectives.
  • Develop and refine business, functional, and testing requirements to support projects and systems involved, in collaboration with vendors if needed.
  • Configure solutions as per requirements.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for the Murex suite of tools used within Front Office, ensuring that all product functionalities are installed and leveraged to their best capability.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and execute system testing.
  • Contribute to User Training activities through one-on-one discussions, preparation of user training guides, and presentations.
  • Follow up with vendor support as necessary to resolve bugs/issues.
  • Ensure technical and functional handover of projects and changes to relevant teams.
  • Assist in developing business and operational processes and participate in creating system training artifacts.

  • Job Knowledge & Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Murex Front Office Business Analyst.
  • Extensive experience in setting up and validating Interest rate curves, including for ARRs.
  • Expertise in at least 2 of the following asset classes: IR vanilla and exotic derivatives, Equity Derivatives, Commodity Derivatives, FX Derivatives, Structured Derivatives, etc.
  • Expertise in pricing, valuation, risk management, and sensitivities, including for exotic products.
  • Strong exposure to FO Modules of Murex: E-Tradepad, Simulation, Livebook, RTPM, Structured Bonds Module, Pre-Trade Workflow, Market Data, Dynamic Tables, P&L Notepad, FDI Templates, Blotters, Risk Matrices, etc.
  • Exposure to Flex API, Pricing API, VaR (MRA/MRB), xVA modules will be an added advantage.
  • Flex API development skills (debugging and compiling libraries in C++, interfacing with REST APIs, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Experience in leading and delivering projects.
  • Experience in implementing and supporting Murex v3.1 with front office capabilities.
  • Excellent knowledge of Capital Markets products and processes, front to back.
  • Experience in implementing both linear and non-linear products in Murex.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with excellent communication.
     
  • Qualifications and Skills:


  • A postgraduate degree or qualification in Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant work experience in a Bank or IT Company.
  • Proven stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Strong understanding of financial markets, trading, and banking solutions.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Global Markets products and practices, from pricing, limit checks, booking, risk management, accounting generation, settlements, to confirmation generation.
  • Technically astute with relevant exposure and experience with bank systems and processes.
  • Proven track record in liaising with stakeholders for business requirements, specification documents, testing processes, and other relevant information.
  • Strong numerical skills with the ability to deliver under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
