The multimodal Business Development Manager will focus on developing and expanding the company’s multimodal services, particularly the conversion of LCL (Less-than-Container Load) to the road network. The role is responsible for driving growth by establishing market presence, identifying and securing new business opportunities, while also nurturing and expanding existing customer accounts and relationships. The role partners closely with our land freight department to develop a multimodal solution for LCL customers. The candidate will have a deep understanding of market trends and competitive landscape, and will collaborate cross-functionally to implement innovative solutions to enhance the company’s position.
What You’ll Do
Identify and Cultivate New Business Opportunities:
Develop and build our LCL-FTL multimodal services for new and existing customers and manage a robust pipeline of potential clients specifically for LCL multimodal services
Conduct market research to identify new opportunities within the supply chain, transportation, and freight forwarding sectors
Engage key decision-makers through targeted outreach including cold calls, emails, and in-person meetings to present the company’s value proposition
Sales and Account Management:
Proactively seek out new clients while maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers
Customize logistics and transportation solutions that address client needs, maximizing their operational efficiency through LCL and FTL services
Provide end-to-end support for clients, ensuring smooth onboarding and continuous satisfaction with services
Expand Multimodal Capabilities:
Work closely with the operations team to ensure efficient, scalable multimodal transportation solutions are in place
Partner with internal teams to develop tailored freight solutions that leverage the company’s multimodal capabilities across sea and land transportation
Reporting and Analysis:
Present weekly and monthly sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management
Analyze customer data to refine offerings, ensure satisfaction, and identify opportunities for further growth
Education and Certification
Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
Knowledge and Skills
Experienced in sea freight, primarily in developing LCL services
Strong knowledge of LCL/FTL services, transportation logistics, and multimodal solutions in the UAE and regional markets
Proven ability to build and develop client relationships, specifically in the freight forwarding and supply chain industry
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills
Analytical mindset with a focus on developing tailored solutions to meet client needs
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across the company to deliver optimal services
Self-motivated and target-driven, with a strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales quotas
Experience
At least 5+ years of proven work experience as a Business Development Manager, Sales Account Executive, or similar role
Demonstrated experience in freight forwarding, logistics, or supply chain management in the UAE or GCC market, with specific focus on LCL, FTL, or multimodal transportation services
Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques
Track record of achieving sales quotas
