Job Description
Overall responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate tender ITT / ITB documents, drawing, specification, and project schedules and understand the MEP scope of work. Responsible for and contribute in assigned proposals actively for MEP works.
- Preparation of cost sheet like direct cost, indirect cost, temporary facilities, and other related cost to tender.
- Floating enquiries to suppliers / manufacturers / subcontractors as required.
- Identify potential issues or areas of risk and communicate with Proposals & Estimation Manager.
- Collaborate with other intra-company and other estimators to ensure that estimate are accurate and complete.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Review and evaluate project tender documents ITT / ITB documents, drawings, specifications, datasheets, and project schedules and identify the cost estimation basis. Preparing technical queries such as details, missing documents pertaining to the tender.
- Prepare and float inquiries to suppliers / manufacturers / subcontractors. Review and validate estimates form sub-vendors. Sending enquiries to the specified/non-specified suppliers for materials & equipment. To follow up and receive quotation from various suppliers.
- Evaluating supplier’s quotation against the tender requirements such as capacity, quantity, specifications, deviations, etc.
- Prepare detailed bill of quantity and verify material take-offs during the tender’s stage and support projects team during execution. Responsible for producing competitive prices through evaluation of instructions, specifications,
- drawings, bill of quantities. Negotiating with suppliers to achieve target price for winning the bid.
- Prepare cost sheet for construction package for main contractor.
- Prepare cost comparison between suppliers and subcontractors and identify the factors.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns and summaries for MEP related scope of work, including labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, overheads, contingencies, and profit margins.
- Contribute to project execution plan and prepare technical proposal write-up for related scope of work.
- Preparing final contract BOQ based on the agreed contract value.
- Revising the cost summary as per received post tender clarifications.
- Contribute to commercial proposals and provide detailed basis for related scope of work.
- Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors on commercial aspects of the scope and products.
- Provide technical support and guidance to projects teams and clients on instrumentation related issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum Bachelor Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related field) with 04-05 years of experience and minimum 02 years in the Oil & Gas, Power & Utility industry. Affinity and familiar with Engineering, Procurement and Contracting aspects both onshore and offshore in power and utility industry.
Additional Information
Experience Requirements:
- Experience level: 04-05 years
- 02 years’ or more experience in an contracting companies, in oil & gas, power and utilities sector.
- Minimum 2 years’ in MEP estimation
- Experience in living overseas for an extended period
- HSE compliance and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams
Skills & Professional Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge to review contract / commercial documents and their terms and conditions.
- Good knowledge of ADNOC standards and MEP specifications.
- Maintaining ISO documentation, record keeping, suppliers / manufacturers data bank record.
