Job Description
- Supervise mechanical teams, including technicians, fitters, and contractors, to ensure they perform tasks safely and efficiently.
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure that project schedules are met.
- Ensure proper documentation of work performed by the mechanical team.
- Oversee routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance of mechanical equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, valves, and piping systems.
- Ensure timely repair of breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain production flow.
- Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.
- Ensure proper calibration and alignment of machinery as per manufacturer guidelines.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations, including risk assessments and hazard control measures.
- Ensure that all mechanical work meets industry standards, company specifications, and client expectations.
- Review and verify the quality of materials, tools, and work processes used in mechanical tasks.
- Identify and diagnose issues in mechanical systems and provide solutions to minimize disruption.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on mechanical activities, including progress, incidents, and required maintenance.
- Report equipment performance and suggest improvements for efficiency and reliability.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized mechanical services, repairs, or installations.
- Oversee contractor work to ensure it meets the required standards and timelines.
- Manage spare parts inventory, tools, and materials required for mechanical tasks.
- Ensure the availability of necessary resources for scheduled maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in a supervisory role within the oil and gas industry, particularly in mechanical maintenance and operations.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in HSE, mechanical systems, and maintenance management would be an advantage.
- Languages: Proficiency in English is required;
