Job Purpose & Context:
To design and deliver successful marketing campaigns for conferences, awards and digital products in line with agreed KPIs.


Key Responsibilities:
Some of the responsibilities of a Conference Marketing Manager include:


  • Create and implement an integrated marketing strategy, including delegate acquisition, table sales and sponsorship for all the awards and conferences under the Africa construction portfolio.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand industry trends, audience needs and competitor activities, using these insights to refine the marketing strategy.
  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to ensure timely and high-quality content delivery for email marketing, social media, digital marketing campaigns and other channels.
  • Plan, execute and manage targeted email and digital marketing campaigns across various platforms, including paid advertising.
  • Manage budgets by allocating funds, monitoring expenses and ensuring campaigns remain within budget.
  • Lead the creation of compelling content across various channels, including promotional materials, brochures, social media posts and website updates.
  • Work closely with the production team to create attractive sponsorship opportunities and ensure marketing efforts are aligned with event themes, content and objectives.
  • Ensure websites are up to date with the latest information, including agendas, speakers and awards details.
  • Responsible for generating leads to support the team in driving table sales and delegate acquisition.
  • Set up and manage delegate registration portals, ensuring a seamless registration process. Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues and implement necessary improvements to enhance the user experience.
  • Track delegate acquisition and provide regular reports on registration numbers, conversion rates and other key performance indicators.
  • Monitor, analyze and report campaign performance and use the insights to continuously optimize future marketing activities.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including event operations to ensure smooth execution of projects and the data team to ensure data governance and data management policies are adhered to.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills:


  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in marketing awards and conferences.
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing, along with the potential and attitude required to learn.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for business and events.
  • Experience with the following tools is a plus: Emarsys, PowerBI, Salesforce, Google Analytics and social media business manager suites.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in 360-degree marketing and measurement.
  • A good eye for design and the ability to write compelling content.
  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in marketing or a related field.
