e.construct designs structures such as bridges, high-rise design, commercial facilities design, precast concrete engineering, and post-tensioning design. We are a multi-disciplinary engineering design firm with specialized design and value engineering services. The firm's core work is holistic at its approach, and it has divisions in structural, MEP, Geotechnical, and emerging construction technology such as 3D printing of concrete, technology, and 3D laser scanning.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced
Marine Engineer to join our Structural Engineering Department. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in marine works design and demonstrate exceptional technical and management capabilities.
roles and responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and implementation of e.construct’s marine construction supervision systems and procedures for the project, ensuring compliance with internal processes and standards.
- Participate in safety, environmental, and hazard assessments.
- Assist in ensuring that no technical changes are made without prior approval, in alignment with EPC contract procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Design of marine structures and works, including breakwaters, revetments, reclamation, dredging, and beach nourishment.
- Prepare detailed technical reports and tender documents for marine projects.
- Conduct numerical modeling for wave transformation, wave agitation, water circulation, flushing, sediment transport, and beach stability.
- Manage projects effectively, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, demonstrating strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Serve as a point of contact for clients, ensuring their needs and expectations are addressed.
- Develop designs for port facilities, including quays, piers, breakwaters, floating pontoons, and other marine structures.
- Design offshore platforms, pipelines, and subsea infrastructure.
- Conduct feasibility studies and site investigations to assess environmental and geotechnical conditions.
- Plan layouts for efficient port operations and vessel traffic.
- Perform structural analysis to ensure the stability and safety of marine structures under various loads (waves, currents, etc.).
- Analyze hydrodynamic forces and their impact on offshore structures.
- Calculate material requirements and costs for construction projects.
- Assess the environmental impact of port and offshore projects.
- Develop strategies to mitigate environmental risks, such as erosion, pollution, and habitat disruption.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
Requirements
- From 6-8 years in the design of marine works and related activities.
- Site Experience: Experience in fieldwork is considered a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in numerical modeling and relevant software tools.
- Languages: Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong project management abilities, team collaboration skills, and a client-focused attitude.
