Job Description
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
The main purpose of the Manager Accounting/Tax – GCC & Jordan is to manage the day-to-day activities of the accounting function in GCC & Jordan, ensure compliance with all Group Finance policies and procedures, IFRS/local GAAP standards, local Tax/legal regulations, statutory/financial requirements, and business partner with all internal functions for key projects rolled out across the business.
Also managing a team of 3 across 4 Legal Entities, the Manager Accounting shall lead all Tax, ERP and financial projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting:

- Month end, Quarter end and Year end closing in SAP, Grape/CFIN and smart close
- Drive actual data accuracy for P&L
- Monthly Balance sheet reconciliation, overview, and ageing review
- Alignment and follow-up with team on aged accounts (all BS accounts)
- Drive OOH accuracy and target achievement for month end closing and RFC
- Handle interim and year-end financial audits
- Preparation of consolidated Financial statements and management accounts (5 entities)
- Manage yearly internal audit submissions
- Maintain insurance contract renewals
- Maintain updates of profit and cost structure creations
- Payroll accounting and reconciliations with HR partners (understanding of labor law & financial impacts)
- Handle inventory valuation and intercompany markup reconciliations for all IC transactions
- Submission of Cost of sales reconciliation monthly with gap analysis
- Assisting in the preparation of operating overheads for RFC, SBP & Budget including relevant comments for variance
- Providing assistance in the roll out of key projects in GCC and Jordan
- Guidance to direct and indirect team on accounting treatment
- Alignment with Real estate team to ensure accuracy of lease master data for IFRS 16
- Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
- Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong team relationships

Compliance & legal:

- Drive all IFRS/GAAP implementations locally and forecast future impacts
- Issue Financial statements in alignment with External auditors
- Submit FS to Ministry and JAFZA
- Handle ESR reporting and other ad hoc reporting (Transfer pricing, SCAD, Dubai statistics)
Taxation:

- Implementation of Corporate tax in UAE
- Drive all Tax, Transfer pricing and Economic substance submissions
- Responsible for accurate and timely submission of local taxes

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

- University degree in finance, preferably ACCA or CA
- Ideally with a qualified accounting/audit background
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Experience in team management
