1. Preliminary Assessment & Planning
Survey and Inspection: Assess the current pipeline's condition, including any leakages, corrosion, blockages, or failures. This may also involve an inspection of the surrounding area for any potential risks. Design and Engineering: Design the new pipeline based on the required flow rates, pressures, and materials. This includes selecting the right materials (e.g., PVC, HDPE, steel) that are suitable for the location and purpose. Permit and Approvals: Obtain necessary permits from local authorities for construction, or alterations to existing infrastructure.
2. Pipeline Material Selection
Material Evaluation: Choose materials based on the specific needs of the water supply system, such as durability, corrosion resistance, and installation complexity. Pipe Sizing: Ensure the new pipeline has appropriate diameters and capacity to meet current and future water demand.
3. Site Preparation
Safety Measures: Implement safety procedures like barricades, signage, and worker protective gear to prevent accidents during removal of existing pipeline & re-installation of new pipeline.
4. Pipeline Installation
Pressure Testing: After installation, conduct pressure tests to ensure the pipeline can handle the intended pressure without leaks. Connection to Existing System: Integrate the new pipeline with the existing distribution network, ensuring minimal disruption to water supply during the transition.
5. Final Testing & Commissioning
Water Quality Testing: Conduct water quality tests to confirm that there is no contamination after the pipeline is installed. Flow Testing: Ensure the flow rates and pressure match the design specifications. Final Inspections: Carry out final checks to ensure everything is working correctly.
6. Documentation & Handover
As-Built Drawings: Provide updated drawings of the pipeline, including changes made during the installation process. Operation and Maintenance Manuals: Supply relevant documents on the care, maintenance, and monitoring of the new pipeline.
7. Post-Construction Support

Unless:
(a) Vendor has obtained the prior written consent of SAGA to the use of the subcontractor, and
(b) Vendor has entered into a separate written agreement with the subcontractor which requires the subcontractor to agree to and abide by all the terms and conditions of this Agreement.
The Community shall be deemed to be a third-party beneficiary of any such agreement between the vendor and a permitted subcontractor.
Notwithstanding the foregoing, the vendor shall not be relieved of any of its duties or obligations under this Agreement as a result of entering into a written agreement with a permitted subcontractor.
