The team uses an ‘Asset Allocation Matrix’ to realize risk adjusted returns on invested capital over a long-term period.
The Company’s investment activities include direct investments in startups, taking stakes in established businesses, acquisitions of business enterprises and setting-up new businesses through collaborative joint venture route.
GTI is also active in private financial investments, including private equity and debt, venture capital, real estate, and publicly listed financial investments.
Job Description
The Senior Manager – Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) will play a pivotal role in identifying, evaluating, and executing acquisition and divestment opportunities aligned with the strategic goals of the Group. Reporting to senior leadership, the role involves working across diverse industries, conducting due diligence, structuring deals, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver value-driven transactions.
- Acquisition Strategy and Execution:
- Develop and refine the M&A strategy to align with the Group’s growth objectives.
- Identify potential acquisition targets through market research, industry analysis, and networking.
- Perform valuation, risk analysis, and financial modeling to assess potential deals.
- Build business cases for acquisitions, including financial models, synergy assessments, and risk analyses.
- Lead negotiations on terms, pricing, and deal structures.
- Oversee post-merger integration to ensure seamless operational and cultural alignment.
- Deal Origination and Pipeline Management
- Establish and nurture relationships with investment banks, advisors, and potential acquisition targets.
- Maintain a robust deal pipeline, continuously screening for high-potential opportunities.
3. Divestment Strategy and Execution:
- Prepare divestment plans, including valuation, market positioning, and marketing materials.
- Manage end-to-end divestment processes, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
- Negotiate favorable exit terms and manage stakeholder communication.
4. Due Diligence and Analysis:
- Conduct (or manage via external advisors) comprehensive due diligence across financial, operational, legal, and strategic dimensions.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors (legal, financial, and industry experts).
- Develop detailed investment memos and presentations for decision-making by leadership.
5. Stakeholder Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business units, industry leaders, and financial institutions.
- Prepare and deliver presentations for internal stakeholders, including executive leadership and the board.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align deal objectives with corporate strategy.
- Communicate effectively with board members and family leadership on deal progress.
6. Market and Industry Insight:
- Stay abreast of market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting M&A activities.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to leadership on emerging opportunities and risks.
Qualifications
Education
- MBA is preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics
Additional Information
Experience:
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in M&A (big4), investment banking, private equity, or corporate development.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Deep understanding of valuation techniques, deal structuring, and regulatory requirements.
- High attention to detail, ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, and a results-oriented mindset.
