We have recently partnered with a leading real estate group are currently recruiting for a legal counsel to be based out of their office in Dubai.

Summary - 
The Real Estate Legal Counsel provides expert legal support for all real estate transactions, leasing, and regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include contract drafting, due diligence, and managing property transactions. Experience with Dubai Land Department procedures is preferred. This role involves mitigating legal risks, handling disputes, and supporting real estate initiatives.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of real estate law, excellent negotiation and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities -

  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for real estate acquisitions, sales, leases, and development projects.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on property transactions, including title searches, surveys, and environmental assessments.
  • Manage and coordinate the legal aspects of real estate closings, including preparing and reviewing closing documents.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate activity regulations.
  • Stay informed on changes in real estate laws and regulations and advise the company on their impact.
  • Obtain and manage necessary permits and approvals for real estate development projects.
  • Address and resolve issues related to lease compliance, tenant disputes, and property management.
  • Provide legal support for real estate development projects, including land acquisition, zoning, and land use matters.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, developers, and external stakeholders to address legal challenges and requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of development agreements and construction contracts.
  • Manage Real Estate-related litigation and disputes, including overseeing and coordinating with external legal counsel.
  • Develop strategies for dispute resolution and negotiate settlements when applicable.
  • Represent the company’s interests in arbitration, mediation, or court proceedings.
  • Review and advise on various real estate transactions and operations contracts to mitigate legal risk.
  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to address potential legal issues.


Education -

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law from an accredited institution is required. Degrees in business, finance, or real estate can be beneficial.
  • Real Estate Law Certification: This may include additional training or certification programs in real estate legal practices.
  • Continuing Legal Education: Active participation in CLE courses focusing on real estate law to maintain and enhance legal knowledge and skills is highly recommended.


Experience -

  • Minimum of 8 Years of Experience: At least eight years of professional experience as a legal counsel or attorney specializing in real estate law.
  • Real Estate Transactions: Demonstrated experience managing real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and leasing.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Proven track record in navigating and ensuring real estate regulations and laws compliance.
  • Development Projects: Experience handling legal aspects of real estate development projects, including zoning, land use, and permitting.
  • Fluent in Arabic and English: Strong verbal and written communication skills in Arabic and English are required, including the ability to draft and negotiate contracts, interpret legal documents, and communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders in both languages.
