Job Description
The purpose of this position is to assist Inventory Controller to provide effective inventory management and services to Engineering & Maintenance Department of Dubai Metro.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES;
Inbound Receiving
- Receive inbound documents from supplier and ensure correctness.
- Oversee offloading of materials and ensure that it matches with the delivery documents.
- Record received materials in inventory management system to maintain accuracy.
- Put away all received materials within the allocated area using a forklift, if legally / officially trained.
- Oversee segregation of received hazardous materials based on type and ensuring MSDS and COSHH are available upon storing.
- Coordinate with suppliers via email or telecommunication for rejected materials.
- Coordinate with sub-systems' Engineers for scheduling the technical inspection of received materials.
- Uploading of all signed inbound documents in the inventory management system.
- Provide invoice and all other related inbound documents to Finance department as when required.
- Receive all calibrated tools returned by vendor and update it in the inventory management system accordingly and all relevant documents are uploaded.
Outbound Issuance
- Accept requests from sub-systems for material issuance.
- Coordinate with sub-systems for material preparation and issuance.
- Record issued materials in the inventory management system to maintain accuracy.
- Follow-up with sub-systems for materials issued manually.
- Receive return materials / assets from sub-systems and process it in the inventory management system.
- Accept waste return form from sub-systems and guide the technicians on proper segregation & disposal of waste.
- Accepts returned tools due for calibration and consolidate it all in the allocated bin location with the inventory management system being updated at the same time.
Other Tasks
- Assign task to Store Keeper/s.
- Supervise and train Store Keeper/s.
- Implement / suggest cost reduction initiatives.
- Record any stock movements in the inventory management system to ensure stock integrity.
- Perform / coordinate stock audits.
- Maintain proper housekeeping in the warehouse.
- Operate forklift truck and other lifting equipment, if legally / officially trained.
- Handle chemicals and inflammable materials.
- Packing & unpacking of materials as and when required.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed / directed by superiors.
KEY SKILLS
- Possess good communication skills and the ability to manage subordinates.
- Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle priorities.
- Preferably can operate forklift truck with a valid license or willing to take license in short period.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRMENT
- Good knowledge in proper material handling.
- General knowledge in using different types of material handling equipment.
- General understanding of safety guidelines within the warehouse environment.
EXPERIENCES
- Minimum 4 years working experience as a Store Keeper preferably in the rail, transport, auto, heavy engineering or similar industries.
- Experience in inventory administration, logistics, issuing of materials, housekeeping, and using a computerised inventory management system is preferable.
EDUCATIONNAL QUALIFCATIONS
- Graduate of higher diploma in engineering discipline (Automobile, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Rail) or equivalent.
