About the job LEAD PIPELINE ENGINEER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To lead the design, engineering, and execution of pipeline systems during the detailed engineering phase for ADNOC projects. The role demands technical excellence, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, and delivery of innovative pipeline solutions while ensuring compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead pipeline system designs, including route selection, stress analysis, material selection, and hydraulic studies, during the FEED and detailed engineering phases.
- Review and approve detailed engineering deliverables such as alignment sheets, isometric drawings, P&IDs, and construction specifications.
- Develop pipeline design basis documents, ensuring alignment with ADNOC project requirements and international standards.
- Perform wall thickness calculations, pipeline stability assessments, and on-bottom roughness evaluations for offshore pipelines.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of pipeline systems into the overall project design.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of pipeline engineers throughout the design and execution phases.
- Oversee the preparation of engineering deliverables, such as route optimization studies, crossing designs, and pipeline coating specifications.
- Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability are integrated into the pipeline design.
- Manage interfaces with other disciplines, contractors, and vendors to resolve design issues and ensure alignment with project goals.
- Participate in technical reviews, HAZOPs, and constructability assessments to mitigate risks and improve design quality.
- Support procurement activities by preparing material requisitions, reviewing vendor documents, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
- Provide technical support during pipeline construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain strict compliance with ADNOC standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10-12 years of experience in pipeline engineering, specifically in FEED and detailed engineering phases.
- Proven expertise in ADNOC projects, with experience in both onshore and offshore pipeline systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of pipeline design, including route optimization, stress analysis, material selection, and hydraulic modeling.
- Strong familiarity with pipeline codes and standards, such as ASME B31.4, ASME B31.8, API, DNV, and ADNOC specifications.
- Proficiency in engineering software for pipeline design and analysis, such as CAESAR II, PIPEPHASE, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to lead engineering teams and manage complex pipeline projects.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Relevant certifications in pipeline engineering or project management (e.g., PMP) are an advantage.
