About the job LEAD MATERIALS AND CORROSION ENGINEER
We are seeking an experienced Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer to join our team for the Engineering phase of an oil and gas project in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in materials selection, corrosion control, and mitigation strategies, with a proven track record in ADNOC projects. Candidates must have 15+ years of experience in the field and be immediately available to join.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the development and review of materials selection and corrosion control strategies for the engineering phase of oil and gas projects.
- Provide technical expertise in the selection of materials, coatings, and corrosion inhibitors to ensure project compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes.
- Oversee the preparation of material specifications, datasheets, and design philosophies for pipelines, process equipment, and facilities.
- Conduct corrosion risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigation measures for various systems.
- Review and approve vendor documentation, ensuring alignment with project requirements and ADNOC specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including process, mechanical, and pipeline engineering, to resolve material and corrosion-related issues.
- Provide guidance on material and corrosion challenges during design, procurement, and fabrication stages.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines by monitoring deliverables and addressing potential delays.
- Support HAZOP, design reviews, and technical meetings to ensure effective risk management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for materials and corrosion engineering with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in materials and corrosion engineering for oil and gas projects.
- Significant experience working on ADNOC projects and familiarity with their standards and specifications.
- Strong knowledge of international standards, including NACE, ASME, and API.
- Proven ability to manage engineering deliverables and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team coordination skills.
- Must be immediately available and based in the UAE.
