Job Description
Job Purpose
Nominated by Air Arabia, the Lead Airworthiness Auditor, shall monitor and verify all activities in the areas of Airworthiness, Maintenance, Ground Operations, Safety, Quality and Security, ensuring all are being carried under the supervision of the relevant “Nominated Post Holder” in compliance with Air Arabia Group policies and third Regulatory Bodies’ requirements and adopted standards (IOSA).
Key Result Responsibilities
- Assists Head of Operational Audit to ensures compliance with all applicable Airworthiness, Maintenance, GRD OPS, Quality, Safety and Security regulatory requirements across Air Arabia Group.
- Partners with Stakeholders to facilitate and support the deployment of the QSS related policies across the hubs, this includes systems, investigation process, regulatory compliance and operation readiness process. Identifies deviations and creates action plans to harmonize.
- Ensures an annual audit plan is documented and implemented for all company hubs.
- Ensures assessment of all hubs in conformance against IOSA ISARPS.
- Keeps abreast with local & international legislation, regulations, guidelines and practices related to aviation industry.
- Advises as assigned by his line manager on projects, changes in operational procedures, processes, and introduction of new projects.
- Conducts necessary assessments for the SMS to identify hazards and risks and evaluate the overall status. Sets preventive measures, decides on corrective measures and improvements and ensures actions are taken timely.
- Follow up on all related raised findings closure with adequate CAPA.
- Ensures that safety manuals, risk registers and documentation are continuously and timely reviewed and updated in accordance with the departmental Procedures.
- Ensures that established operations, policies, procedures and internal rules and regulations are met under the supervision of the relevant “Nominated Post Holder” and are in compliance and accordance with:
- Conditions and Restrictions of the AOC & OPS SPECS.
- Maintenance approvals.
- Applicable Regulatory Requirements
- All relevant Third Authority Regulations and additional standards as set by Air Arabia Group (IOSA).
- Monitors the annual audit and inspections plan; identifies non-conformities, problems or deficiencies and proposes corrective measures and alternative solutions. Monitors and assures that corrective actions are timely taken and effective by the responsible line manager.
- 12- Advises the Head of Operational Audit on Quality, Security and Safety related matters and supports with needed information and independent assessment of audits and inspections results as well as correction loops on a regular standard basis. And participates in the formal Management’s Evaluation of Quality and Safety Review Boards for the effectiveness of both Systems.
- Participates in the development and implementation of Group Policies & Procedures.
- Monitors and ensures all identified concerns on Safety and Security are addressed, investigated, and resolved in compliance with Air Arabia’s Safety & Security Programs.
- Conducts periodical health checks for all hubs Management Systems effectiveness.
- Ensures all lesson learned in Safety, Quality and Security are shared with all hubs & considered.
- Monitors the SPI’s & SPT of each Dept in each hub.
- Participates in the review of Aviation Service Agreements and related Interface Procedures.
- Monitors SAFA Ratio of each hub and recommend necessary measures if improvement required.

Qualifications (Academic, training, languages)
- Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Licence and/or a Bachelor degree in Aircraft Engineering/Aeronautical/Auditing or equivalent;
- Alternately, a diploma or certificate in the related field from a recognized institution combined with needed experience and exposure.
- Certificates related to Auditing, Quality Assurance and/or Compliance such as ICAO, IOSA or ISO – Lead Assessor are highly desirable, and some may be treated as conditional for this role.
- Project Management certificate or alternately the proven corresponding working experience is nice to have.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Advanced Excel and PowerPoint), Internet and Web Search.
- Excellent command over both written and verbal communication skills: reporting, presentations, etc.
- Fluent in English Language, (Arabic or French Language are a plus)
Work Experience
- 8+ years of working experience in different disciplines in the aviation/airline industry, with a minimum of 4 years at least leading the “Quality and Safety” or “Compliance” function; low cost airline experience is a plus.
- Extensive knowledge in regulatory bodies’ rules and regulations and requirements pertaining to Engineering, Maintenance and Ground Operations policies, procedures, manuals, certification, and licensing.
- General knowledge in ICAO ISARPS.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in airline documentation and records control systems.
- Aircrafts technical knowledge and relative exposure to aircrafts maintenance is a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge and working exposure to Safety and Security functional requirements and measures in airlines; knowledgeable in internal/external audit practices.
- Experienced in managing the continuing airworthiness of aircrafts in line with Authorities, Manufacturers, and OEMs standard requirements.
- Experienced in designing and implementing policies, procedures and manuals as per business needs and in line with applicable regulations and adopted standards.
- Influential at all levels including internal and external parties; experienced in managing relationships at work place and managing a diverse team of people (Skills/Experience).
- Proven skills in analysing data, identifying pitfalls and recommending corrective measures.
