Your Day to Day:


Under the guidance of the Chief Engineer ensures that the Hotel’s landscaped areas and gardens are maintained to presentation standards in accordance with InterContinental Hotels Group standards to ensure maximum efficiency and guest satisfaction.  The position requires advance technical knowledge with responsibility for staff supervision, coordination and productivity of the landscaping operation. Promotes the desired work culture around the values of IHG.


Some of main responsibilities are:


  • Assist in the planning, scheduling and supervision of the daily operations of the landscape team
  • Co-ordinate all maintenance of the hotel’s gardens, plants and grounds in relation to the following:
    • Upkeep of plants in guest rooms and public areas
    • Care and decoration of plans and trees around the hotel grounds
    • Plant nursery duties including purchasing
    • Preparation of plants for all functions
    • Watering, pruning, fertilization
    • Control of garden pests
    • Chemical usage for pest control and garden maintenance
  • Works with superior in the preparation and management of the department’s budget and is aware of financial targets 
  • Recycles where-ever possible and enforces cost saving measures to staff
  • Manage energy consumption and materials
  • Be operationally hands on to ensure that standards are maintained and efficiency of completing work
  • Competent in the basic understanding of the pump station including the filtration system
  • Competent in the operation of the computerized irrigation control system
  • Perform or assist in all irrigation and material application matters, including maintaining logs of application, when required
  • Assist Common Property Manager in construction and maintenance of site, where applicable
  • Ensure that appropriate files are maintained and resources kept for future reference
  • Complete daily reports outlining work undertaken for the day
  • Explore and incorporate environmentally friendly initiatives
  • Efficient and effective use of recycling methods
  • Report equipment problems or failures to the Engineering Department

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:


  • Ideally holding a diploma or vocational certificate in agricultural/landscaping 
  • Previous experiences in a similar role and a proven knowledge in developing and implementing landscaping procedures
  • Good command of English 
  • Ability to find fault and rectify mechanical systems are essentials
