Job Description

As a Kitchen Designer, you will be responsible for meeting clients and knowing their requirements for the kitchen designs. You will also be responsible for creating accurate blueprints to meet all the client’s specifications.As an ideal candidate, you should have in-depth knowledge of colour coordination in designs. You should also be remodelling the old design items and incorporating them into the kitchen design as well.Apart from this, you should possess sound knowledge of various carpentry and plumbing works. Familiarity with computer software for designing such as CAD is mandatory for this job position. Furthermore, you should be informing clients about various electrical safety guidelines as per the design.Excellent communication skills and abundant experience in reading blueprints are essential for this job role. In addition to this, you should be able to pay close attention to details. Prior experience as a Kitchen Designer will be an added advantage.Attending meetings with the clients and noting down their design needs.Illustrating the effect of kitchen space requirements.Providing innovative ideas and concepts to meet client’s needs.Developing design blueprints as per the specifications.Remodelling old items in the kitchen design.Preparing and maintaining design budgets.Maintaining a healthy relationship with the contracts.Incorporating colour themes if necessary.Informing clients about the materials to be used in the kitchen.Recommending the placement of various plumbing fixtures and electrical works.Adhering to all the regulations of the design.Maintaining the records of activities and tasks.Informing the clients about any changes in the designs.Staying updated on all the latest kitchen design trends.

Requirements
  • Associate degree in Interior Design or a High school diploma.
  • Work experience as a Kitchen Designer or a similar role in the Design department.
  • A portfolio of complete kitchen design works.
  • Demonstrate the ability to read blueprints effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding project management skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Sound knowledge of building regulations and codes.
  • A keen eye for details.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong work ethics.
