Job Description
Planning and Delivering Lessons:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans based on the curriculum.
- Provide a balance of structured and unstructured activities that encourage exploration and creativity.
- Integrate various subjects such as literacy, numeracy, arts, science, and social studies into the daily learning experience.
- Foster curiosity, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills in students through engaging teaching methods.
Classroom Management:
- Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports learning, growth, and social interaction.
- Establish clear rules and expectations for student behavior and ensure they are followed.
- Use positive reinforcement strategies to promote good behavior and resolve conflicts effectively.
Individualized Student Support:
- Monitor the developmental progress of each child and provide individualized support where needed.
- Identify and address any learning difficulties or developmental delays, working closely with parents, other teachers, and school specialists.
- Encourage socialization and the development of interpersonal skills in group settings.
Assessing Student Progress:
- Observe and document each child’s progress, both academically and socially, and keep accurate records of assessments.
- Provide regular feedback to parents/guardians on their child’s development and achievement.
- Conduct parent-teacher meetings to discuss the child’s progress and suggest strategies for home support.
Creating a Safe and Engaging Environment:
- Ensure the classroom is clean, safe, and organized, meeting health and safety standards.
- Organize learning materials, supplies, and resources to enhance the learning experience.
- Set up learning areas that encourage hands-on exploration, creativity, and independence.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with fellow teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff to provide a comprehensive learning experience for students.
- Participate in school meetings, staff development, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Foster open communication with parents to build a strong school-home partnership.
Curriculum and Cultural Integration:
- Implement the school’s curriculum and values while incorporating elements of local culture and traditions.
- Adapt teaching methods to suit the diverse needs of students from various cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Encourage respect, inclusivity, and understanding of diversity in the classroom.
Professional Development:
- Stay updated on the latest trends and research in early childhood education and apply best practices in teaching.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and workshops to enhance skills and knowledge.
