Job Summary
Sales Engineer is responsible for selling into new prospects as well as farming back into existing customers to ensure high renewal and customer satisfaction levels. Measures of success include new customer acquisition rates, renewal rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Sale of capital equipment with specific focus on K-winch product line, more driven towards outside sales.
- Liaise with customer and aftermarket team after delivery to ensure that units are successfully commissioned and handed over.
- Promotion of sales of Elmar products through staying continuously aware of client’s needs
- Provision of quotations/tenders and supportive information to customer enquiries
- Establish, develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to proactively upsell aftermarket services.
- Visit client offices as required and communicate the outcome of such visits to key personnel within the organization
- Receive enquiries, technically evaluating the customer’s requirements, costing accurately the scope of supply and involvement required by the company, and produce high quality quotations that meet the customers’ requirements whilst adhering to the company’s commercial policies
- Communicate new and existing business leads to sales team – follow up and convert received leads and communicate back to Sales Manager, Country Managers and team
- Liaise with internal stakeholders for technical and commercial information and evaluate the received information as part of the quotation process to the customer
- Liaise with all areas of manufacturing and supply chain ensuring that relevant information is supplied or received promptly as part of the quotation process
- Progress quotations with customers to verify that our proposal has interpreted their requirements correctly, to ascertain if our proposal is commercially acceptable and to ensure that the company is in the best possible position to win any potential business
- Mentor Assistant Sales Engineers on the commercial aspects of equipment sales
- Follow up with clients on quotations submitted, on a regular basis
- Receiving and processing customer orders as required
- Conduct Contract Reviews in accordance with the Company procedures, managing clarifications and exceptions when required
- Liaise with all internal Departments in order to ensure the efficient processing of orders.
- Identify key stakeholders within departments across the full sales and manufacturing process from quotation to delivery - identify risk points in each area and work collaboratively to reduce those risks
- Follow up with clients to minimise external influences which may halt/delay order shipments e.g. credit stopped accounts, unpaid invoices.
- Oversee the successful completion of a portfolio of Sales Orders
- Expediting overdue equipment orders
- Notify Sales Team in a pro-active manner of any potential late deliveries.
- Prepare and issue status reports for both internal and external use
- Act upon customer issues, feedback, deadlines, and deliverables and ensure customer issues are handled effectively and quickly, adapting, improving and communicating internal processes as and where necessary
- Follow and enforce established sales processes and make suggestions for improvements as and when necessary
- Drive weekly and monthly sales activities according to sales plan; customer/new business visits, customer calls, follow up of leads and quotation generation/follow ups
- Achieve and aim to surpass internal sales KPIs and metrics – increase quotation to order conversion rates, identify reasons for non-conversion (communicate these to internal stakeholders) and make recommendations for improvement
- Comply with NOV Company and HSE procedures and policies.
Skills
BEHAVIORAL SKILLS/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Proven working experience in a Sales/Service Engineer position
- Bachelor's degree in engineering preferably Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
- Proven track record selling complex enterprise solutions
- Proven ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy to understand manner
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation and presentation creation skills
- Willingness to travel
QULAIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
- Minimum 10 years of field experience along with sales experience in dealing with hydro-mechanical equipment preferably NOV Wireline equipment
- Proven customer focus and commitment to customer satisfaction
- Knowledge of CRM and Sage ERP system
- Experience of successfully commissioning NOV winch and PCE portfolio
- Technical knowledge of K-winch products, both mechanical and electrical aspects
- Basic knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatic principles.
- Proven track record selling spare/ capital equipment
- Proven ability to forge strong, long-lasting relationships with senior executives
- Solid technical background with understanding and/or hands-on experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation and presentation creation skills
