Job Description

The Joinery Factory Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating production activities to ensure efficient workflow in the joinery factory. The role involves optimizing resources, managing timelines, and ensuring projects are completed within budget and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Production Planning & Scheduling:
  • Develop detailed production schedules based on project requirements and deadlines.
  • Allocate resources, including manpower, machinery, and materials, for optimal production efficiency.
  • Monitor work progress and adjust schedules to meet project timelines.
Material & Inventory Management:
  • Coordinate with procurement and stores to ensure timely availability of raw materials (wood, MDF, laminates, veneers, hardware, etc.).
  • Monitor stock levels and minimize wastage through efficient material usage.
  • Ensure proper documentation of material consumption and inventory levels.
Coordination & Workflow Optimization:
  • Liaise with design, engineering, and project teams to ensure smooth execution of production orders.
  • Coordinate with CNC, carpentry, polishing, and assembly departments for seamless operations.
  • Identify and resolve bottlenecks to improve productivity.
Quality & Compliance:
  • Ensure production follows design specifications, quality standards, and industry regulations.
  • Work with quality control teams to identify defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain safety and compliance standards within the factory.
Project Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Track and report on production progress, efficiency, and challenges.
  • Prepare reports on machine utilization, labor productivity, and material consumption.
  • Provide regular updates to management on project status and potential risks.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in joinery or woodworking factory planning.
  • Strong knowledge of woodworking machinery, joinery techniques, and materials.
  • Proficiency in production planning software (e.g., ERP, AutoCAD, MS Project).
  • Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and coordination abilities.
Preferred Experience:
  • Experience in high-end custom joinery and fitout projects.
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing and process optimization.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
