HEAD OF DIGITAL EDUCATION AND INNOVATION NEEDED IN ABU DHABI
A private American curriculum school is seeking to appoint dynamic and creative specialist teachers to be part of a close and collaborative team of educators in expansive purpose built premises. It is a happy school that is ambitious and keen to build on its current strengths, enjoying a wonderful family atmosphere in which many teachers have developed professionally under the strong and supportive guidance of the current headteacher.
It is essential that interested applicants have the relevant teaching qualifications and though American experience is preferred other backgrounds will be considered. There is an 80% Arabic and most students speak English as a second language so good skills of differentiation and cultural sensitivity are additional essential prerequisites.
Purpose of Role
● Responsible for assessing and advancing the digital strategy for the school in line with the schools vision and goals.
● Oversees the existing digital learning platforms and technology and integrates new technologies to support the development of teaching and learning and skills competencies of both students and staff.
● Line managing and directing leads of related areas e.g. Computer Science, Design & Technology, Aeronautics, Mechanical Engineering and any other related subject areas.
● A reduced teaching timetable in area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities
● Developing IT Strategy and Policies.
● Developing further the Digital Safeguarding and acceptable use Policies and Procedures.
● Working with local authorities within the UAE to ensure appropriate systems and protocols are upheld.
● Lead a Digital Ambassador Student Group, who help develop further the digital pathway for the school.
● Coordinate and actively participate in the School’s Digital Strategy Group to empower the effective use of digital led technology by Staff & Students
● Advising the Senior Leadership Team regarding all digital matters including: Hardware; Software; Educational technology; Digital pedagogy; Digital Privacy, Security, and Safeguarding of Students.
● Consulting with all major stakeholders within the organization including Heads of Department, Students and parents to ensure their digital needs are understood
and met
REQUIREMENTS:
University degree, undergraduate or equivalent.
● ICT/Computing/Digital related degree or equivalent.
● PGCE or equivalent.
● have three years of teaching experience;
● have a commitment to excellence as a classroom teacher;
● be committed to the principles of 21st Century learning;
● demonstrate contemporary teaching methods and be competent in integrating technology into the curriculum
● be able to work as a member of a committed team of professional teachers, dedicated to providing quality teaching and learning in partnership with the parent community.
● Have all required documentation to allow for ADEK approval
