Job Description

To manage and provide technical support of all Dubai IT systems to the users and to manage the day-to-day technical support for existing processes and functions, evaluation of new solutions and new approaches relevant to existing and future IT system activities in coordination with the Dubai IT management including DSV Global IT


Reporting Line:


Report to: Senior manager, IT


Role: IT Support

Detailed Responsibilities:


  • Monitors and maintains DSV Dubai computer systems and networks; installs and configures computer systems, diagnoses hardware/software faults and solves technical problems; ensures all systems are in a secure and monitored surrounding.
  • Maintains IT Inventory on a regular basis and provides the reports to Senior IT Team to ensure that all available data is recorded and available upon request by IT Management
  • Handling IT Service Desk Calls and Tickets using the DSV Approved Service Desk Tool.
  • Develops IT Support processes, tools and/or procedures to prevent and/or mitigate any risks and to increase and ensure productivity; proposes ways to continually improve the application environment, quality and customer satisfaction and the services of IT team.
  • Ensures all technical requirements, test and implementation plans, and project task documentation for new implementations or changes to system, are available.
  • Elevates potential problems and opportunities for improvement to IT Manager
  • Any other related duties/ projects assigned by the line Manager from time to time to meet business requirements.
  • Documentation Skills for IT Processes
  • Good Communication skills

Qualifications & Characteristics:


  • Bachelor's/ Computer based.
  • IT Service Desk application related experience
  • Certifications: Good Knowledge of IT Networking, ITIL Processes and Microsoft Windows OS and MS Office Software’s preferred
  • Networking Knowledge: LANs, WANs, IP Addressing, Switching, cabling, Wi-Fi Technologies
  • Basic Knowledge in IT Systems Hardware (Laptops, Desktops, Printers, RF Scanners), IT security, IT Troubleshooting
  • 2-3 years working experience in relevant fields.
  • Able to demonstrate positive attitude and is a team player.
