Details of the Division and Team:    


The Business Management Specialist will play a key role in supporting the Business Manager GSAA with a remit of Dubai, Singapore, Switzerland, UK, India locations in enabling business growth, achieving business objectives and ensuring operational efficiency. This role requires a hybrid mindset i.e strategic as well as a balanced business/risk mindset with excellent analytical/organizational skills, and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The role holder, within the Business Management Team will work closely with the team of Market Heads, Team Heads, Relationship Managers, Service Executives, Onboarding Specialists, Compliance, AFC, Infrastructure and stakeholders at the Booking Centres (Singapore/Switzerland, Luxembourg).

Your key responsibilities:


  • Contribute to the development of business strategic plans in accordance with the DB and relevant entity risk appetites and support Business Manager in alignment of Business development and risk strategy.
  • Maintain and develop the business risk capabilities and skills to meet ongoing business needs and plans. Fulfill the role of partnership and consultancy by balancing the interests between risk governance and commercial rationale.
  • Support the Business Manager in implementation of key Business strategic initiatives across GSAA locations (expansion of multi entity footprints, outsourcing etc).
  • Update Key Operating documents (KOD) to reflect operational processes and upload in portal post relevant approvals. Assist Business Manager to draft Bulletins as and when applicable to keep staff abreast of policy/process changes.
  • Remain current and thorough on KODs operational processes, services and Firm’s systems/applications.
  • Contribute to and participate in designing a strong governance framework and control structure i.e operational Risk framework as the 1st Line of Defense for the Wealth Management business in line with the Global WM written Supervisory Procedures.
  • Participate in process improvement/re-engineering/alignment initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity across locations.
  • Provide guidance, consultation and training to help improve overall understanding of and adherence to procedural/regulatory requirements to Team (On-boarding Specialists, Investment Advisors, Service Assistants, Business Heads, RM/Client Advisors etc).
  • Support any remediation or business related projects emanating locally or from the Booking Centre along with Business partners – Business Heads, Relationship Managers, Onboarding Specialists, Service Assistants and ensure completion before stipulated deadlines.
  • Provide assistance to Front office in managing prospect clearing, guidance to Supervisors for any Supervisory attestation tasks in Navigator as required.
  • Support/contribute to Business Management induction training presentations for New joiners and refreshers. Support along with the team, New Hires/internally transferred staff from a Business Management perspective –training on existing processes.
  • Represent the Business as the Process Activity Owner and responsible for all data protection related topics activities.
  • Provide input and participate in the quarterly Regulatory Prudential Reporting discussions, Annual Mutual Fund reports, DFSA AML Returns, Annual AFC GRA assessments, E-comm surveillance response on behalf of Business, etc.
  • Responsible for conducting testing related to cross border travels and MIS reporting.
  • Assist Business Manager in Complaints Handling/Investigations and Operational risk Incidents.
  • Assist Business Manager for regulatory and internal audits. Assist to/Action any audit/internal Level 2 testing items and ensure completion before stated deadlines.
  • Prepare topics and participate in periodic Supervisory meetings along with Business Heads,
  • Supervisors, Compliance & AFC to provide/be abreast of any updates.
  • Prepare topics and participate in periodic Regional Regulatory meetings along with Regional Location Managers and Business Managers.
  • Prepare topics and participate in WM Business Risk review meetings along with Business Heads, Compliance & AFC to provide updates and table/escalate issues. Assist Business Manager in preparation of the Business Risk deck and prepare minutes.
  • Assist Business Manager (Conflict of Interest Representative for Wealth management) to provide the information required to complete the quarterly Conflict of Interest attestation (Potential/Actual conflicts) in Navigator.
  • Support Business Manager in Hiring related topics across GSAA locations.
  • Back up responsibilities for Business Development Analyst that includes assisting Sub Region Head with Pipeline Management, Budget planning and monitoring, weekly performance reporting, preparing performance dashboards, strategic presentations for GSAA locations, liaison between the Subregion Head, regional teams, and the performance management team etc.

Your skills and experience:


  • Graduate (minimum) in BCom/Finance background.
  • Experience in a similar role with banks/Big 4 consultancy firms is desired.
  • Proficient in excel (Advanced levels) and Powerpoint (Advanced) is a must. Knowledge & experience in Macros is an advantage.
  • Keen to learn, creative, have a proactive approach, excellent & diligent co-ordination &follow up skills required.
  • Willing to be flexible as work entails co-ordination across GSAA locations.
