About the job INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Perform instrumentation design and engineering activities for the Engineering phase of oil and gas projects, including FEED and Detailed Engineering.
  • Develop instrument data sheets, specifications, and design documents, ensuring compliance with ADNOC standards and international codes.
  • Prepare and review engineering deliverables such as instrument index, I/O lists, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings, and control system architecture.
  • Design and specify field instruments, control systems, safety instrumented systems (SIS), and fire and gas detection systems.
  • Conduct sizing calculations for control valves, pressure safety valves, and flow elements.
  • Review vendor documents and perform technical evaluations for instrumentation equipment and systems.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integration and alignment of instrumentation systems with overall project objectives.
  • Support HAZOPs, SIL assessments, and design reviews to address instrumentation and control requirements.
  • Provide technical support during procurement, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure all instrumentation designs comply with ADNOC regulations, project requirements, and international standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API).

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Bachelors degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 8-10 years of experience as an Instrumentation Engineer in the oil and gas industry.
  • Proven experience in the Engineering phase (FEED and Detailed Engineering) of large-scale oil and gas projects.
  • Previous work experience on ADNOC projects is mandatory.
  • Proficiency in instrumentation design tools and software such as SPI (SmartPlant Instrumentation) and AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of ADNOC standards, procedures, and approval processes.
  • Familiarity with international instrumentation codes and standards (e.g., ISA, IEC, API).
