About the job INSTRUMENTATION DRAFTSMAN
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Instrumentation Draftsman to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and detailed technical drawings and documents for instrumentation systems across various Oil & Gas projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Create and modify detailed drawings, including Instrumentation Layouts, Loop Diagrams, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), wiring diagrams, and other technical drawings using AutoCAD or other drafting software.
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and mark-ups from engineers to develop clear and precise drawings.
- Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company guidelines, and project requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, and project managers to clarify drawing details and resolve design issues.
- Revise drawings based on feedback and mark-ups from stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized documentation of all drawings and revisions, adhering to document control procedures.
- Assist in preparing material take-offs and bill of materials (BOM) to support procurement activities.
- Support in technical reviews, inspections, and audits as required during various project phases.
- Adhere to company procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations throughout the drafting process.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- Diploma or Associates degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience of 5+ years as a Draftsman, preferably in an Engineering Consultancy within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and other drafting software; familiarity with 3D modeling software is a plus.
- Strong understanding of technical drawing standards, symbols, and conventions used in instrumentation design.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, sketches, and specifications accurately.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of industry-specific standards and codes (e.g., ISA, ASME, ANSI) relevant to instrumentation design (Preferred).
- Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) or similar software for creating instrumentation drawings (Preferred).
- Prior experience working on EPC projects involving instrumentation design and drafting (Preferred).
- Familiarity with procurement processes and procedures related to instrumentation materials (Preferred).
