INSTRUMENT TECHNICIAN
- Required Higher Diploma or 3 years Diploma
- Oil & Gas experience required
- Should have valid UAE Driving license
preferably Manual
JOB PURPOSE:
To undertake the maintenance, installation and repair of all
electronic, microprocessor based-control systems, data acquisition system,
automation and distributed control system (DCS) at all depots as per Aviation!
JIG standards and manufacturer recommendations . To troubleshoot problems with
this equipment and ensure that the equipment is operational at all intended
times.

Accountabilities
- Provides
input into the Preventative Maintenance Plan for the Electrical Supervisor.
Performs regular routine inspection and maintenance of all instruments in the
depots and Aviation fuelling facilities in accordance with the Preventative
Maintenance Plan.
- Carries out
maintenance of all electronics equipment and Process instruments. This includes
servicing, checking, cleaning, and testing instrumentation equipment; checking
and calibration of various sensors, transmitters, control valves and recorders.
Check and repair various laboratory instruments: troubleshoot PCBs, valves and
displays and recalibrating equipment upon completion of the work.
- Carries out the instrumentation fault finding and defect repair of electric, pneumatic and microprocessor based control and recording systems. Includes checking system changing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), reloading programs on systems, repairing electronic cards in repair shop etc.
- Services all electric, pneumatic and microprocessor based control and recording systems as directed by the Supervisor (D/P).
- Traces out and rectifies faults by following the circuit diagrams and equipment drawings/manuals.
- Completes the installation and operation of advanced testing/metering equipment. Ensures that equipment is functioning per prescribed industry standards.
- Carries out repair work during shutdown including checking, stripping, cleaning, replacing, testing and calibrating equipment.
- Maintaining maintenance documents/checklists for scheduled tasks as per company requirements
- Ensures that control panels/automation system in all depots and Aviation Fuelling Stations are functioning and that electronic equipment and instruments are functioning satisfactorily.
- Complies with all safety rules and regulations, including the use of protective clothing and equipment. Maintains work sites and repair shop in a clean and tidy condition.
- Works in 24X7 Shift Cycle as required.
- Performs other similar or related
duties as and when assigned by direct supervisor.
- Ensures all
safety precautions are taken before and during execution of electrical works.
Maintains all safety equipment.
- Prepares
reports of work done and problems observed during his visits to other remote
area aviation depots.
- Operates and
updates records in computer based maintenance program system for Aviation
equipment and facilities as per instructions.
- Operates Inventory management
System and computer-based maintenance program, up to his limits of authority in the computer system.
- Ensures that
all jobs to be carried out under approved PTW and should comply with companies
HSE rules.
