Key Accountabilities:
To conduct random HSE inspections at locations where multiple activities are in progress. And other common areas including To proactively act on HSE Violations and unsafe Observations to prevent HSE incidents. To listen to and advice employees on OHS, ENV issues and safe work practices. To visit and gather incident details at the incident location upon the occurrence of an HSE incident. To monitor and recognize unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, ENV Violations and identify shortcuts taken by employees that could have a negative impact on HSE. To function as a HSE Mentor and guide employees at workplace to follow safe work practices To identify HSE Violations at the workplace and issue HSE Infringement notices to violators without bias. To check if the Trade Supervision is present at the locations whilst activities are being conducted. To professionally intervene and exercise 'stop work authority' upon witnessing unsafe work being conducted. Effective supervision and Implementation of Permit to Work system across the yard and other locations his/her job is assigned to. Drive safety awareness campaigns and promote positive safety behavior/culture on their assigned projects. To ensure Method statements and TRAs are being followed at workplace. To compile and submit a daily HSE Monitoring report at the end of the shift to his Line Manager. Provide support UAE Nationals on HSE requirements & Compliance. Representing in HSE committee meetings and providing inputs to improve the safety across his /her area of responsibility Participate in accident investigation, root cause analysis and Prepare reports. Identify and act upon opportunities for improvement to safety related matters. Liaise with supervisors /foremen client representative Contractors as deemed necessary for discussion on any HSE Matters Implement and monitor OHS and Environment System Assist in employees briefing and safety training. Attending project meetings and preparing daily/weekly/monthly reports. Provide assistance to ERT during emergency situation.
Experience / Qualification & Skills:
IOSH -Managing Safely Any other equivalent recognized degree or Diploma related to the discipline. Safety Risk Assessment Accident Investigation Safety inspections experience Leadership Ability Planning and Organizing Minimum 3 years working experience as Safety Inspector or similar position. Experience required in the field of Ship / Rig repair / Conversion OR New building/Offshore Construction. Good knowledge of Safety Management and relevant tools. Good knowledge of OHS Management System and OHSAS 18001 Knowledge of legal / regulatory and other relevant standards for OHS requirements and its applicability to the company.
