Inspector Mechanical

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular inspections of mechanical works, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and piping systems, to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
• Monitor installation processes and materials to verify adherence to approved shop drawings and method statements.
• Identify and report any discrepancies or quality issues and ensure that corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Review and verify material submittals, test reports, and quality assurance documents.
• Conduct witness testing and commissioning activities to verify system performance and functionality.
• Maintain accurate inspection records, prepare daily reports, and document non-conformance issues.
• Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to address technical challenges and ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure that all mechanical works comply with local regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance procedures.
• Participate in project and coordination meetings to discuss progress, quality concerns, and resolutions.
• Assist in final inspections and project handover, including preparing punch lists and verifying rectification works.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills:

• Diploma or bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical inspection within large-scale construction projects, preferably in the UAE.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and piping installations.
• Proficiency in using inspection tools and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office).
• Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA, local authority regulations).
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
