Job Description
The Inspection Conformity Engineer is responsible for overseeing the conformity assessment process, ensuring that products and services meet the necessary standards for quality, safety, and reliability. This role involves conducting routine assessments and tests, maintaining the integrity of the company’s brand, and advising on certification requirements for various product categories. The engineer will stay updated on international and regional standards, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations. This position is vital for maintaining the company’s reputation and ensuring client satisfaction through effective communication and problem resolution.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and approve conformity assessment processes to ensure compliance with relevant standards.
- Conduct routine assessments and testing to assure quality, safety, reliability, and system integrity of processes and equipment.
- Maintain the integrity of the company’s name and brand through consistent quality assurance practices.
- Advise clients on certification requirements and provide detailed information for specific product categories.
- Update and maintain knowledge of international and regional standards and schemes to ensure compliance.
- Ensure continuous improvement of competency and qualifications as a Conformity Engineer in accordance with required standards.
- Provide technical knowledge of products as per relevant schemes and ensure timely issuance of Conformity Certificates.
- Maintain KPIs and targets for the International Trade Services department.
- Identify product-specific requirements and assess them against applicable standards and schemes.
- Prepare technical instructions relevant to products and schemes to guide compliance efforts.
- Respond effectively and promptly to client inquiries regarding product requirements and standards.
- Identify non-compliant products and maintain accurate records for compliance tracking.
- Develop and maintain procedural documentation for departmental activities.
- Escalate high-risk matters to management for further action.
- Ensure integrity management for both clients and vendors.
- Manage customer relationships and effectively handle customer complaints.
- Perform other conformity-related tasks as assigned by management.
- Comply with all applicable policies, procedures, and work instructions in line with QHSE, ISO standards, and legal/regulatory requirements.
Preferred Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (Electrical/Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, Food, or related field).
- Pre-qualification with relevant authorities is an added advantage.
- Strong business and industry knowledge.
- Professional knowledge in quality assurance and compliance.
- 1 year of experience with ESMA in inspection, testing, and QC/QA is a plus.
- Experience in similar organizations is preferred.
- Technical credibility and strong presentation skills.
- Excellent reporting, planning, and organizing skills.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Fluency in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
