Role Summary: The Indirect Purchasing Manager will play a central role in defining and executing strategies across key procurement areas, including Supply Chain, Marketing, Logistics, IT, and other indirect procurement categories. Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Manager, this role focuses on optimizing costs, building strong supplier partnerships, and ensuring operational excellence. With a balance of strategic insight, negotiation skills, and collaborative leadership, the Indirect Purchasing Manager will drive sustainable, high-quality procurement solutions aligned with the company objectives and values.
Key Responsibilities
Purchase Management:
- Identify the needs for indirect goods and services within the company (e.g., general services, office supplies, trade marketing, PR, service contracts, logistics and transport, IT…).
- Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies for each category of indirect products and services.
- Negotiate purchasing conditions (prices, delivery times, payment terms…) with suppliers to obtain the best possible terms.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with key suppliers to secure best-in-class terms and services.
- Negotiate purchase terms, pricing, and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Proactively address and resolve supplier issues or disputes.
- Collaborate with suppliers on sustainability initiatives and innovative solutions to drive value creation.
Analysis and Reporting:
- Analyse expenditure and procurement data to identify savings opportunities and process improvements.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports on supplier performance, market trends, and procurement achievements.
- Monitor procurement KPIs, such as cost reduction, lead time efficiency, and process optimization.
Contract Management:
- Develop, negotiate, and manage procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and internal policies.
- Monitor supplier adherence to contractual obligations and proactively address non-compliance.
Digital Transformation and Process Optimization:
- Lead the implementation of advanced procurement tools and technologies to digitize and streamline procurement processes.
- Identify and execute opportunities to automate routine tasks and enhance data-driven decision-making.
Sustainability and Responsible Procurement:
- Champion sustainable and responsible procurement practices, including sourcing from ethical and environmentally conscious suppliers.
- Develop initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental footprint through indirect purchasing strategies.
Internal Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders across departments to align procurement strategies with their needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Promote awareness of procurement policies and procedures among internal teams.
- Act as a strategic partner in cross-functional initiatives, contributing to the company’s broader operational and financial goals.
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize procurement processes.
- Promote and integrate sustainable and responsible procurement practices into the company's procurement policy.
