About the Department: Our mission at the Academic Success Centre (ASC) is to support academic success of our diverse students by means of positive change, guidance, mentoring and developing capacities inclusively. The ASC center's students and serves as a hub to support the complete student life cycle, from onboarding including induction all the way until matriculation.
The primary role of an Inclusion Support Officer is to provide guidance and inclusive support to students in their academic endeavors, provide administrative services and assist in the effective development and functioning of the Academic Success Centre.

Academic Support



Inclusion Counseling
Individualized Accommodation Planning: Collaborate with students with special educational needs or neurodivergent conditions to develop personalized accommodation plans and access to academic resources, assistive technologies, and support services where applicable.
Academic Support Coordination: Coordinate with faculty and academic advisors to provide tailored support and accommodations for students with special educational needs, including extended exam time, note-taking assistance, and alternative format materials.
Developing Accessible Resources: Assist in developing and improvising university resources to make them more accessible and inclusive for students with differentiated learning needs and from diverse backgrounds. These include designing alternative formats, modifying course materials, and utilizing assistive technologies to enhance
accessibility.
Academic Guidance
Academic Planning: Help students create a plan for their academic journey, including support on their degree planner, aligned with their academic and career goals.
Student Support: Support students on academic procedures, policies and systems and assist students in choosing the appropriate subjects, making sure they meet degree requirements guided by academic department specifications.
Problem Solving: Offer guidance in liaison with academic departments when students encounter academic challenges, such as program or subject level difficulties, time management issues, or personal obstacles.
Supporting Student Success
Resource Referral: Connect students to relevant university campus resources, including learning resources, tutoring services, wellbeing counselling, career counselling, and support for special needs.
Monitoring Progression and Providing Support: Help students understand the requirements for graduation and ensure they stay on track to meet those requirements and report on students' progress and refer students for intervention eg. signs of academic struggle or underperformance.
Mentoring: Bolster student success as mentees by helping them identify and track their academic and personal goals, navigate university and tap into resources.
Inherent Responsibilities
Maintain high standards of support and communication with students and serve as a source of support, listening to student concerns and offering encouragement when needed.
Undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by the Line Manager and effectively support development of the Academic Success Centre and it’s activities.
Support and participate in student life-cycle activities as required, including but not limited to orientation, induction, onboarding, enrolment, examination and graduation.
Qualifications & Experience: Essential:
Masters level qualifications in relevant field of inclusion support
Fluency in English
Previous customer/student support experience at a university level
Skilled in use of systems such as ServiceNow and Microsoft products
Skilled in use of learning management systems and apps eg. Moodle
Skilled in tracking, collecting, developing reports on customer requests
Desirable:
Multilingual (eg. Arabic fluency)
Previous teaching experience (high school and above)
ITIL Certification or equivalent
Compensation & Benefits: This is a temporary position for a fixed period and is on salary only basis. There are no benefits attached to this position. Applicants must have a valid UAE residence visa and be able to provide a NOC from the sponsor.
