As a professional in your role, your responsibilities and essential job functions will include but are not limited to:
- Ensure overall cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, kitchens, and back-of-house areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities to monitor cleanliness and adherence to hygiene protocols.
- Develop, implement, and review hygiene policies and procedures in line with industry standards and local health regulations.
- Oversee cleaning staff, ensuring proper sanitation methods are followed and high standards of hygiene are maintained.
- Perform routine audits of cleaning products, equipment, and supplies to ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Coordinate with housekeeping, maintenance, and food & beverage departments to identify areas requiring improvement and enhance hygiene practices.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with COVID-19 protocols or any other pandemic-related hygiene regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to hotel staff on best practices for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, cleaning schedules, and safety audits.
- Investigate and address any guest complaints related to cleanliness or hygiene issues.
- Stay updated on industry trends and changes in hygiene standards or regulations.
Ideally, you should possess some or all the following qualifications and experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (additional certification in hospitality or hygiene management is a plus).
- Proven experience in a hygiene or cleaning supervisory role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards, cleaning techniques, and sanitation protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
- Ability to manage and motivate a team of cleaning staff.
- Good communication skills and ability to train and educate others on hygiene practices.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, and their safe handling.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and COVID-19 sanitation protocols (if applicable).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Certification in food safety or hygiene management (preferred, but not required).
