HSE ENGINEER (LOSS PREVENTION)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are seeking a highly skilled HSE Engineer specializing in Loss Prevention to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating potential hazards and risks associated with engineering projects. As an integral part of our Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our projects comply with all relevant HSE regulations and standards.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conducting hazard identification and risk assessments (HIRA) for all phases of the project lifecycle. Developing and implementing loss prevention strategies and measures to mitigate identified risks.

• Reviewing engineering designs, plans, and specifications to ensure they meet HSE requirements.

• Participating in HAZOP (Hazard and Operability Study) and HAZID (Hazard Identification) workshops.

• Providing technical guidance on fire protection, explosion prevention, and other loss prevention measures.

• Conducting safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations as necessary.

• Developing and delivering HSE training programs for project personnel.

• Monitoring and reporting on HSE performance indicators.

• Liaising with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and clients on HSE-related matters.
• Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes in loss prevention and HSE.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

•  Bachelors degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an HSE Engineer with a focus on loss prevention, preferably in the EPC industry.

•  Professional certifications in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, ASP/CSP, etc.) are highly desirable.

•  Strong knowledge of international HSE standards, codes of practice, and regulations.

• Experience in conducting HIRA, HAZOP, and HAZID studies.

•  Proven track record in developing and implementing effective loss prevention strategies.

•  Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.

•  Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Proficiency in MS Office and HSE management software.
