Job Description

  • Lead and manage a team of housing staff, including maintenance workers, property managers, and other support personnel.
  • Address tenant concerns, complaints, and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Ensure tenants comply with housing rules and regulations, handling conflicts or violations when necessary.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of housing units, ensuring that the facilities are safe, clean, and in good working order.
  • Schedule regular inspections and maintenance checks.
  • Coordinate emergency repairs and preventive maintenance efforts.
  • Monitor and control operational costs, such as repairs, utilities, and supplies.
  • Ensure that housing properties meet all local, state, and federal housing laws, building codes, and health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of housing operations, including maintenance requests, tenant communications, financial reports, and compliance documentation.

Qualifications

  • Strong management and interpersonal skills to supervise staff and handle tenant relations effectively.
  • Understanding of housing laws, tenant rights, and building codes.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is typically required or a related field is often preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in property management, housing, or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Ability to perform light physical tasks, such as walking the property, inspecting buildings, and lifting moderate weights.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
