Job Description

The purpose of the role is to support the development, implementation, and management of health, safety, and
environmental (HSE) initiatives within the organization. This position will assist in ensuring compliance with HSE
regulations, promoting safe work practices, and fostering a culture of environmental responsibility. The Trainee HSE
plays a vital role in safeguarding employee well-being, preserving the environment, and strengthening the organization’s
commitment to HSE excellence.
The role includes but is not limited to:
Objectives:
  • Ensure strict adherence to HSE policies and procedures to maintain operational integrity
  • Assist in implementing and monitoring emergency procedures, first-aid facilities, safety signs, and protectiveequipment
  • Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of control measures
  • Foster a culture of responsibility, compliance, and continuous improvement to minimize incidents
  • Perform regular site inspections to ensure proper policy and safety procedure implementation
  • Work closely with Facilities Managers, Supervisors, and employees to ensure compliance with legal and statutory requirements
  • Support the HSE team in implementing and monitoring HSEQ policies and practices across departments and sites
  • Assist in providing in-house training on health and safety issues
  • Maintain records of inspection findings, incident reports, and statistics for management
  • Help identify and address environmental issues, considering political, social, legal, and economic factors
  • Support the implementation of strategies for resource use, pollution reduction, waste management, and employee engagement in sustainability practices
Operational Excellence:
  • Stay up to date with HSE regulations to help the organization mitigate risks and maintain compliance 
  • Emphasize HSE excellence as a core value to attract and retain clients who prioritize safety and environmental responsibility
  • Support the organization’s HSE reputation by contributing to ethical, sustainable, and socially responsible practices
  • Keep informed about new legislation and developments that impact the Facilities Management (FM) industry
Client Experience:
  • Act as an ambassador for safety within the organization, ensuring a secure environment for clients and employees
  • Establish transparent communication with clients and stakeholders, providing accurate HSE information
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, offering tailored guidance or solutions on HSE matters
  • Assist in tailoring HSE solutions to client needs, demonstrating a commitment to delivering relevant support
Project Management:
  • Contribute to developing project plans for HSE initiatives, including setting objectives and resource requirements
  • Establish transparent communication with clients and stakeholders, providing accurate HSE information
  • Address client inquiries and concerns promptly, offering tailored guidance or solutions on HSE matters
  • Assist in tailoring HSE solutions to client needs, demonstrating a commitment to delivering relevant support

Requirements
  • 1-2 years of experience in Facilities Management / Projects / Technical Consulting / Real Estate Management / Community Management / Construction
  • Previously held roles as a health, safety, and environment trainee
  • Basic understanding of HSE requirements in operational activities
  • Collaborative and effective in building partnerships
  • Provide high levels of service to internal and external clients, with prompt responses to inquiries
  • Excellent organizational skills, able to work to strict deadlines, and self-motivated with minimal supervision
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written); spoken Arabic or Hindi is an advantage
  • Maintain a smart and professional appearance at all times
