Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Head of IT Operations to lead our IT infrastructure and helpdesk functions. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, capable of managing large-scale infrastructure projects, cloud environments, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily IT services. This role requires a strong leader who can manage cross-functional teams, maintain high system availability, and continuously seek process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Leadership:
- Oversee IT operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and federal compliance.
- Lead governance for infrastructure projects (cloud migrations, data center upgrades, etc.).
- Manage hybrid cloud environments, daily operations, and long-term infrastructure scaling.
2. Team Management:
- Lead infrastructure and helpdesk teams, mentoring and setting performance goals.
- Work with HR for recruitment, onboarding, and evaluations.
3. Infrastructure Oversight:
- Manage IT systems' capacity, high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
4. Helpdesk Oversight:
- Ensure timely support and service delivery, implement self-service solutions to reduce bottlenecks.
5. Budget & Resource Management:
- Manage budgets, evaluate technologies, and negotiate vendor contracts.
6. Security & Compliance:
- Implement IT security policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards like GDPR.
7. Collaboration:
- Engage with departments and stakeholders to align IT projects with business needs.
8. Continuous Improvement:
- Promote a culture of efficiency and implement KPIs to meet/exceed SLAs.
Experience & Skills:
- 12 years in IT operations with leadership roles overseeing infrastructure and helpdesk.
- Expertise in network architecture, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and hybrid environments.
- Strong project management and leadership skills.
Certifications:
- CCNP, CCIE, Fortinet, Azure, AWS certifications.
- ITIL, PMP, ScrumMaster certifications for service and project management.
Preferred Certifications:
- VMware, Cisco, and cybersecurity certifications (CISSP, CISM) to enhance operational security and service delivery.
