Head of Cyber Security (Crypto industry experience required)

Hiring for a large crypto-currency company in Abu Dhabi.

As the Head of Cyber Security, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a robust cyber security framework to protect our digital assets and information systems against cyber threats. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background in cyber security disciplines, particularly within the cryptocurrency industry, where security is paramount due to the continuous evolution of attack vectors targeting blockchain technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and lead the company's information security strategy, including cyber risk management plans and cyber incident response protocols.
  
• Oversee the operation of security solutions and the continuous monitoring of IT infrastructure to detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats.
  
• Manage a team of security professionals in day-to-day operations, threat intelligence, security auditing, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing.
  
• Coordinate the architectural design of secure systems and technologies, ensuring the security of blockchain infrastructure, cryptocurrency wallets, and exchange platforms.
  
• Educate and train staff on cyber security best practices and foster a culture of security awareness throughout the company.
  
• Stay abreast of the latest cyber security trends, technologies, and regulatory changes that could impact the company's security posture and compliance status.
  
• Develop strong relationships with law enforcement and other relevant organizations to enhance cyber security intelligence and incident response efforts.
  
• Prepare and manage the cyber security budget to ensure the necessary resources are allocated for effective security measures.
  
• Report to senior management and the board regularly on security status, initiatives, and potential changes to the risk landscape.
  

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a relevant field; advanced certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH) are highly regarded.
  
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in a cyber security role, with at least 5 years in a leadership position within a financial, fintech, or cryptocurrency organization.
  
• Exceptional knowledge of cyber security frameworks, ethical hacking, intrusion prevention, and cryptography particularly as it applies to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
  
• Proven track record of developing and implementing comprehensive cyber security protocols and procedures.
  
• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security issues to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
  
• A strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to handle crisis situations effectively.
  

Desirable Experience:

• Experience securing blockchain technologies, smart contracts, decentralized platforms, and exchange architectures.
  
• Familiarity with the regulatory landscape of the cryptocurrency industry and its impact on cyber security measures.
  
• Prior involvement in cyber security research or contributions to industry working groups and forums.
