Job Description

Do you want to join a global company and get experience across the Middle East to kick start your career as a technician? Then our graduate technician trainee programme is what you’re looking for…

We’re Aggreko

We're the global leader in providing energy solutions that help businesses grow and communities thrive.

We work as a team and we’re proud of the difference we make to customers, to local communities, and towards a sustainable future for the world.

Aggreko in the Middle East

Across the Middle East, we electrify events from the Formula 1 in Qatar to Formula E in Riyadh. We're helping customers to reduce their environmental impact, like CCED in Oman where we convert flared gas into greener electricity. And we help crank up the volume to make MDL Beast the loudest music concert in the region, and keep everyone cool at The Diriyah Seasons Festival.

Our graduate technician trainee programme

As a graduate trainee technician, you’ll primarily focus on temperature control / HVAC equipment, however this will be complemented by training in mechanical and electrical systems. You’ll join a comprehensive 12-month development programme, working at various locations throughout the Middle East.

Each rotation consists of on-the-job training, classroom training and e-learning. And at the end of the programme, you’ll be confident in the temperature control (HVAC) maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of our equipment, and ready to move into a technician role in Aggreko Middle East.

Why join us as a trainee?

  • Our programme is designed to give you a wide variety of professional experiences across the Middle East. You’ll have the opportunity to work in our depots, at world-class events and on client sites.

  • Although we're sixty years old, it doesn't feel like it when you work here. You can expect the professionalism and high standards of a larger company – yet you won’t be pigeon-holed into a narrow role.

  • The sense of teamwork is unique – ‘together’ is one of our core values – and we make sure people feel welcome and included, so they can be themselves at work.

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for motivated individuals with the relevant HVAC or engineering bachelor’s degree/diploma (or equivalent) who speak business level English and want to learn and develop their career.

You’ll need to have a sense of adventure as you’ll be working across the Middle East. It’s helpful if you already have a local or international driving license, but if not, you’ll be committed to learn when you join.

We’ll help sort the relevant visas with you, but you will need a valid passport with at least 12 months’ validity.

Quick checklist:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in engineering (or equivalent qualifications) with at least 2 years experience working hands on with HVAC equipment

  • You’ll be able and willing to travel across the Middle East

  • Valid driving license (local or international) or willing to learn

  • Business level English

  • Valid passport with a minimum validity of 12 months

  • Motivated and keen to learn and develop your career with us

Timelines

  • Application closing date: 24 January 2025

  • Technical assessment (online): 27 January 2025

  • Interview date (online): 10 – 21 February 2025

  • Start date: 14 April 2025

  • Location: UAE / Dammam

  • Programme: Graduate Trainee Programme (Temperature Control) ME
