Purpose of the Job

The Global Compliance Director at Aramex will lead the Compliance Function, ensuring ethical operations and compliance with laws and policies worldwide. This role protects Aramex from reputational, financial, and criminal risks. The Director will align compliance objectives with corporate goals, drive program changes, and report risks to Senior Management.




Job Description
  • Implement and maintain a robust compliance program aligned with international best practices and Aramex's objectives.
  • Ensure the program covers Trade Compliance (customs regulations, sanctions, import/export controls), Corporate Compliance (anti-bribery, anti-money laundering, third-party management), Conflict of Interest, and Whistleblower Investigations.
  • Develop and improve compliance risk management strategies.
  • Drive change and automation to align Compliance with other functions and Aramex’s digital transformation initiatives.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive trade compliance strategies and policies.
  • Oversee compliance of all international import/export operations.
  • Serve as the primary contact for trade compliance matters.
  • Stay updated on trade regulations and adapt policies accordingly.
  • Conduct internal investigations and resolve trade compliance incidents.
  • Oversee due diligence and monitoring of third-party relationships (suppliers, agents, contractors, franchisees, joint venture partners, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with anti-corruption and other relevant regulations in third-party interactions.
  • Develop, review, and maintain a comprehensive library of compliance policies and procedures (Code of Conduct, Third-Party Management, Anti-Bribery, Conflict of Interest, etc.).
  • Ensure policies are clear, concise, and accessible to employees.
  • Conduct training and awareness programs to ensure employees are aware of compliance policies.
  • Regularly review policies to ensure they remain current and effective.
  • Manage and oversee Aramex’s confidential whistleblower hotline and investigations of reported concerns.
  • Ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken for identified violations.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive compliance training programs for all employees.
  • Conduct regular awareness campaigns to promote a strong ethical culture within Aramex.
  • Track and measure the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Provide regular updates to the Chief Risk & Compliance Officer.
  • Monitor key compliance metrics and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop compliance risk dashboard reporting for Senior Management, Risk Committee, and Audit Committee.
  • Manage the Compliance budget.
  • Lead the development and continuous training of all compliance associates.
  • Ensure continuity and improvement of staff throughout their career progression.
  • Support the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer on all administrative aspects of compliance.


Job Requirements - Experience and Education
  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Commerce, Law or related fields
  • 12+ years of experience in compliance with 5+ years in managerial experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build, lead and develop functions and achieve strategies and objective on a wide scale.
