General Practitioner

• Direct coordination with assigned Registered Nurse, Customer Service Staff and/or Reception Team regarding the schedule or appointment to provide advise if any patient preparation is required prior to visit to the facility for medical consultation, relevant procedures, treatment and/or follow – up.
• Performs proper and complete and/or holistic health assessment as per the established required standards needed for medical consultation, diagnosis, and treatment.
• Orders diagnostic tests (e. g. x-rays, ultrasound, blood tests, etc.) required for patient’s diagnosis and treatment and responsible to check, interprets, analyze and follow-up of the results and/or reports in a timely manner as per patient’s case.
• Prescribes vaccinations for treating and preventing illness, travel vaccine and flu vaccines, etc.
• Provide medical care to patients in accordance with Aspen Medical Primary Healthcare Centre’s medical scope of practice, policies, procedures, and legislative requirements.
• Management and treatment of all acute diseases and chronic health problems with follow-up.
Responsible to prescribe medications and provide instructions to the patients according to the identified medical problems.
• Promote a caring environment where equality and diversity issues are respected, and clients and their careers are empowered as active partners in medical care decision making.
• Responsible to provide medical and/or health teaching to patients including patient’s families if required.
• Conduct re-evaluation and assessment for treatments once it is required.
• Safely utilize the medical equipment, devices, and instruments use to examine patients, treatment and/or for other relevant medical care.
• Communicating and meeting with patients to discuss and treat medical concerns, preventative procedures, and practices to establish a plan for better medical care.
• Managing and communicating with other healthcare staff members to provide medical care to patients.
• Participate in the implementation of the authorized and/or approved health promotion activities in coordination with the Medical Director and/or Head of Department.
• Complies with the patient referral process to other healthcare professional and/or healthcare facility providers, specialist, and consultants if patient’s needs exceed the range of care which they can provide.
• Presents significant case to Aspen Medical Primary Healthcare Centre Medical Board Committee (MBC) and consulting and collaborating with colleagues to provide optimal care.
• Deliver quality and safe medical services or care to patients in accordance with the Local and International medical standards and guidelines along with providing proper explanations on the relevant procedures, treatment, and patients inquiries to gain patient’s cooperation and trust.
• Ensure to protect patients and other members of healthcare team by adhering to infection prevention and control policies and protocols and relevant safety protections.
• Ensure that the patients received and document the medical health education as part of the patient medical care process.
• Complete documentation of all medical care and/or services, health education/information and treatment given to patients as part of the medical care process on patient’s medical health record whether physical or electronic, as per professional and practice standards/protocols.
• Ensure to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of patient health information record.
• Notify the Medical Director for any health and safety problems which puts patient and staff at risk.
• Promote and observed infection prevention and control practices within the Clinic.
• Assist the Infection Control Officer and other relevant health and safety designee and committees in the implementation and monitoring of Infection Prevention and Control / Occupational Health and Safety Programmes.

• Maintains required technical and professional knowledge and competency by attending or participate in educational workshops and/or continuous In – Service Training Program relevant to the designated role.
• Operate within the context of the medical setting and plan in designated role, or in other roles as directed by Head of Department.
• Participate in contingency plans in the event of an accident or incident happened in the clinic and/or within the facility.
• Responsible to ensure the operation and safety of the medical equipment, instruments, and devices under the scope of responsibilities by providing supervision and guidance to the assigned Registered Nurse to comply with the preventive maintenance requirements, following manufacturer’s instructions on its usage handling, troubleshooting, calling for repairs, maintaining equipment inventories, etc.
• Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with the facility procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Assist with the designated Emergency Response team with respect to medical emergency response and evacuation and ensure to have knowledge and skills to perform BLS, PALS and/or ACLS as directed by Emergency Team if deemed necessary.
• Perform other duties as directed by Medical Director and/or Head of the Department.
