Black & Grey HR is recruiting for one of the leading Event Management companies in the UAE which is well-established in event creations that spans the tourism, sports & wellness, and real estate sectors. Our client is looking to hire a General Accountant who will be responsible for responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial records for the client and its group companies. This includes overseeing the general ledger, ensuring proper recording of all transactions, and handling monthly and annual closing processes. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately maintain the chart of accounts and general ledger by recording all financial transactions.
- Oversee both project-specific and non-project-related ledgers.
- Manage monthly and annual closing processes.
- Reconcile subsidiary accounts through verification, allocation, posting, and reconciliation of transactions.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Provide support to internal teams, external auditors, and tax consultants by supplying necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement audit recommendations to enhance and streamline financial processes.
- Ensure proper storage and easy retrieval of all financial documents.
- Oversee document retention to ensure compliance with legal and company policies.
- Work closely with other departments to collect essential financial data.
- Communicate effectively with external parties, including auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Continuously assess and improve financial processes and systems.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Ensure that financial reports meet regulatory standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies.
Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or a similar role in the Events Industry.
- Demonstrated success in managing financial records accurately and efficiently.
- Established network within the finance community.
- Previous experience in the Middle East is preferred.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
