Foreman Yard Responsibilities:
General:
1. Inspect Cargo with damage noticed in DPW Premise and determine if damage is major or minor.
2. Create Incident Damage report for Cargo with no damage history available & Submit it to General Supervisor
3. Conduct Toolbox Talks to sub ordinates before Commencement of operations.
4. Deploy resources for Cargo Receiving / Delivery after receiving notification of truck passing through the Cargo Gate.
5. Monitor Cargo Receiving / Delivery to ensure smooth Operations
6. Monitor Manpower to identify if any shortage exists, and inform GC Yard & Vessel Supervisor for further action
7. Ensure the cargo is delivered as per correct quantity, marks & nos. & no short or excess cargo is found for delivery to customer or delivery to vessel.
8. Ensure the quick turnaround of trucks is achieved and each truck is served on first come and first serve basis.
9. Proper communication should be maintained at all times with vessel operations and provide assistance whenever possible and in case of no busy work load.
10. Provide smooth operational handover to next shift employees highlighting any special concern over a shipment / cargo as well as equipments & handheld devices.
Receive Cargo (Yard To Vessel)
1. Prepare cargo or loading after vessel arrival and ensure necessary equipment are ready to deliver cargo to the vessel & ensure cargo is fed timely to vessel hook without delays.
2. Check cargo and forklift for transfer operation is suitable in all respects :
a. Sufficient lifting capacity and type length and spread to handle the product.·
b. If Mafi trailer is utilized for the transfer operation, check cargo is secured to prevent dislodgement during transit
3. Await Load Commencement confirmation from Vessel Foreman to start transfer of Cargo From Yard to Vessel.
4. Instruct Tally Clerk to commence shifting cargo from yard to vessel & ensure that proper cargo is shifted as per load list.
Receive RORO (Yard to Vessel)
1. Instruct barricading of the operational area prior to move the loading units from Yard to Vessel.
2. Post Signalmen at the required critical area and turning points.
3. Await Load Commencement confirmation from Vessel Foreman to start transfer of Cargo from Yard to Vessel.
4. Instruct TC to commence shifting RORO units from yard to vessel.
