Foreman - Plater / Fabricator

Job Description

Key Accountabilities:

Plan and organize the job in order to meet the stabilized targets. Assign right number of platers for job in a balanced way and according to their experience Lead and supervise workers to perform related activities such as setting out, fixing and removing scaffolds etc. Liaise with other discipline foremen / supervision to ensure the optimum utilization of available resources, with the overall objective of successful completion of the project. Assist the senior foreman and supervisors in planning activities. Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards. Create progress reports on a daily basis and ensure that any significant information is communicated to the supervisor i.e. resource shortfalls, surplus, HSEQ concerns. Motivate, coach, develop and appraise subordinates. Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work. Ability to read, interpret and follow method statements and procedures, specifications, drawings, and all other discipline related project and engineering documentation. Familiar with hot work operations and controls i.e. oxy-acetylene cutting, welding, steel fitting, etc. Familiar with lifting equipment’s and SWL (safe working load). Able to do calculation.

Experience / Qualification & Skills:

Secondary school. 2 years of trade apprentice course. 3-5 years of relevant experience in shipyard or marine industry as foreman / charge-hand.
