Foreman Fitter

Key Accountabilities:

• Responsible for the more in depth fault diagnosis on the equipment, ensuring that equipment requiring fault diagnosis is diagnosed correctly and efficiently as required. 
• Ensure his teams of men have a control of spare parts that are used during repair work and servicing, to ensure that parts are used cost effectively
• Give feed back to the supervisor with reference to the equipment status being under repair or on service. 
• Ensure that spare parts are ordered in a timely fashion, ensuring that time cards are filled out correctly. To attend PMS /break down/damage repair as per man power allotted
• Exercise discipline at the work site to prevent absenteeism, unsafe work practices and idleness.
• Assist the supervisors in planning activities.
• Ensure that the workers are properly supplied with machineries, tools, equipment and materials and everything is in proper order and state of maintenance.
• Perform inspections to ensure that the workers performance is up to the set standards.
• Follow the day-to-day operations related to own job to ensure continuity of work
• Perform other job related duties as assigned by the section head
• Entering and updating of job card in mariner program
• Responsible to complete the target as per schedule and available consumables with cost control

Experience / Qualification & Skills:

• Technical certificate in relevant trade (Diesel Mech. , Automobiles)
• 2 years of work experience in the same trade
• Working knowledge of workshop safety and quality.
• Must have a firm but fair disposition when dealing with the workforce and be a team player
• Knowledge to read and understand the various equipment manuals
• Familiar to diagnose complaints & solutions.
• Familiar to diesel engines & transmission.
• Familiar to hydraulic system & schematic.
• Familiar to work with ECM controlled machines
• Knowledge of ship yard equipment’s like cherry picker, fork lift ,side loader ,transporter and straddle carrier is an added advantage.
